With this painting, I aimed to portray different emotions on a rollercoaster, hence doing so literally. However, I painted the faces with the opposite stereotypical emotion and color association (blue is typically seen as a melancholic color but is used to paint the character who is seen to be smiling.) This was to show the contrast in emotions and how emotions to me, are just a spectrum due to the fact that there is happiness in sadness and sadness in happiness.

I also decided not to use pictures of me but instead paint images of other people to show how everyone has gone through emotional rollercoaster at one point in their lives and it affects everyone else in the scheme of things. This painting was basically inspired by the whirlwind of emotions that everybody has experienced throughout the ongoing pandemic.
